Women Fabric Art Gallery

This is another one of those fun projects. I am sure most women can appreciate the camaraderie of a girls’ weekend, sharing stories and drinking wine. I can’t wait for my next girls’ weekend.

I knew when I saw this picture I had to recreate my version in fabric. Her elegance among the cherry blossoms gives you a peaceful calm feeling.

I love to capture women in their cultural dress and customs. You can feel their stature and strength.

I feel happy every time I see this picture. It tells a story of the sisterhood of women on a hot summer's day, sharing secrets and laughing at past times together.

Spending my summers as a child on Penage Lake, Northern Ontario, Canada, we had a lot of fun in our red rowboat. This picture reminds me of my mother picking water lilies to put in a bowl on the kitchen table.
